What is a zombie? What are their strengths and weaknesses? How are they created? You must know your enemy.
Zombies are the product of an infection that causes death and reanimation within a 24 hour time period. The origin of this infection is unknown. Zombies bites and flesh are toxic to all animals, and will kill them, however animals do not reanimate, this is only seen in humans.
Zombies more or less retain the same senses as humans, with them relying on sight, smell, and hearing to find prey. But they do not feel anything as their nerve receptors remain dead. This allows them to not feel any wounds done to the body, and to continue advancing. The only way to stop a zombie is destorying it's brain.
Zombies decompose at a reduced rate than normal bodies, and it has been estimated that it takes 5 years for them to fully decompose. Their lungs continue to function in only taking in air and expelling it, giving them their signature moan. Zombie's cognitive abilities rank somewhere below that of an insect, and is our one main advantage over the undead, the ability to think.
